^{Okay, so it's been almost a month since my last 'weekly' Monday feature. *fail* xD Ah well, who noticed? I didn't, that's for sure. I've been so busy lately, like any other person in full time education I suppose. Art wise, I only have 2 trades left (FINALLY! Only 2! 8DDD) and because I'm already working my way through those, I was thinking maybe I'd...semi-open trades again? With a slight catch, though. I'll explain more at the end of this journal, but for now, FEATURES AHOY!~~}

About dem art trades...

I don't think anyone's going to take me up on this, but since I'm working on =piksoyp and ~color-me-wonderful's trades, I think maybe I could perhaps take on a few more? *BRICK'D* Only like...1 or 2 - I don't want it to end up like last time where I was desperatley struggling to get about 10 or so trades done and out of the way xD; It took me waaaay too long. D:

So here are the rules:

You are NOT allowed to make a start on your half until I've finished mine! This is to save you from hanging around for months, perhaps even a full year whilst I get my act together and feel extremely guilty for putting it off for so long, etc, etc. This brings us on to the next point...
Please don't expect it to be done in the next few days, weeks, or perhaps even months... I'm really, really busy with my final year of Comp. school (GCSEs AAHHH!), and I will be until May-June. As you probably might have guessed, drawing has taken a back seat (even more so than it did in the past, anyway! D8). I can't even secure time on the weekends to work on my planned pictures now.
A word about styles: For my half (as in, the picture you draw for me), whilst I realise that it's selfish to ask.....please, don't draw it in an anime/manga style. ): I just...yeah.
Whatever I do, you do. I'm prepared to give 110% of my concentration and effort on the pic that you want, but in return, I ask that you put in the same amount of time and effort. Eg. if I draw a background, can you please draw one for my half aswell? If you ask for 2 characters, I'll ask for 2 characters aswell to even things out. Etc, etc.
No OCs. Unless you can convince me that yours is super awesome and different from any other original character out there (i.e no sparkly vampire wannabes plz! )
In Digital media only, because as I've said, I'd like to keep the field as even as possible, and I really suck at traditional work,(like, A LOT), so....;-; I'd love to get better someday, but not at the expense of your picture. I think I could only say I've done my best in the media I'm most comfortable with.

EDIT: (31st Oct. 2009) Stream's over now! That was soo much fun, despite the numerous technical difficulties. xD; It should work perfectly next time - just a case of trial and error. Thanks to those who stayed with me to chat! I also learnt that I have a hidden microphone on my laptop somewhere, how awesome is that? Not going to be able to use it though because of the extreme background interference. Still, MADE MY DAY.

LOL I'm under no illusion that anyone in their right mind would want to watch me work, but it's getting kind of lonely and MSN keeps making my computer crash for some reason. ;-; Warning: extreme fuglyness in 3..2..1:

This journal's really important guys! If you never pay attention to journals, than please make a small exception for this one - if you don't then that's fine - we shall go our seperate ways! :3 That's actually what this whole entry is about, heh.

Explanation

So anyway, I've realised over the last couple of weeks that I'm not coping very well with the number of submissions appearing in my inbox - the worst part is that not only do I not know half of these people, but I can't even remember why I watched them in the first place. D:> Whenever I update my watchlist with someone new, I'm always looking at various usernames that I swear I've never seen before, or people who I've been meaning to....un-watch ;A; *fail* It's not because I think they're no good or anything, it's just because I feel like I have nothing to learn from them anymore, and that my taste goes elsewhere in art now...

For example, I watched alot of anime artists when I first started this account; I loved the style and I admired those who could draw it well. Now however, that's all changed. Like I said earlier, my tastes have altered and I find it difficult to be interested in the anime/manga genre in general. I've made many friends who love anime, and friends who love to draw anime - that's not to say I'm here to bash the style, or that I'm unable to appreciate it, because I am able to recognise when something's taken alot of time and effort to get right. It's just that...it's difficult to sort through my inbox thoroughly when it's full of stuff that I know I can't leave proper comments on, because I have nothing to say about it.

And it's unfair to those whom I know well and enjoy talking to - their art sits at the back of my inbox whilst I sort out stuff from people I've never spoken to. This problem is my fault - I simply watch too many people. Now's the time to do some cleaning out!

TL;DR I have some strangers on my watchlist - I'm flushing them out and starting afresh!

Solution

Just leave a comment and I'll re-add you! :'D But only if you promise to be an active watcher - with my newly condensed list I promise to be the same~ That's the whole point of this, I need to sort out friends from inactive cling-ons, basically ;A;

But wait, there's more!

Please bear in mind that there are certain types of art that I am leaning away from at the moment D: It's only fair that I list them, because I may not comment on them as often as I'd like. The reason being that...there's always something else in my inbox distracting me >.<

Photomanipulation - I find it hard to appreciate something that's really just copy and pasting someone else's photographs together for your own personal glory. 2 year olds can do that, and whilst I do realise that it's a valid skill, it's not one that I enjoy. I'll get off my high horse soon, I swear. D|

Anime/Manga - Like I said before, I just don't like it as much as I used to.

Sketches - If they're not uploaded in bulk (as in, half your sketchbook in one week X___x) than they're completely fine. I prefer to see/comment on finished work though.

Photography - I watch some great photographers, but they don't half upload in bulk Dx There's no way I can comment on 50 pictures of your cat.

Anthro - No, just...no. I'll admit that I've never really seen the appeal of this. There's nothing creepier than a wolf with a human expression - Disney have alot to answer for.

'-Watch, but can we still be friends?'

Of course! If you feel for whatever reason that our style's aren't compatible anymore and that we should go our seperate ways artistically, but you'd still really like to be friends, then note me and I'll send you my MSN address! :3 ^{Although, I hardly ever use it - you've got more chance of catching me on Twitter. You don't have to add me on there for us to have a conversation - just put my username in your tweet and away we gooo! xD; *shot*}



Other than that, I can't wait to re-add some of you guys and start over. Hopefully I'll be able to leave better, more in-depth comments now~
